Kemper House and The Douglas Company Break Ground on Highland Heights Memory Care Facility

Highland Heights, OH, October 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday, September 26, Kemper House, together with general contractor The Douglas Company, held a groundbreaking event for a new memory care facility in Highland Heights, Ohio. Among those in attendance included Highland Heights Mayor Scott Coleman, City Councilman Bob Mastrangelo, Betty Kemper, president of The Kemper Company and Pete Douglas, president of The Douglas Company.

Construction of the building, which is now well underway, includes 54 private and semi-private suites among three separate neighborhoods totaling nearly 50,000 square feet of new space. Each neighborhood will include its own dining room, living room and enclosed courtyard. Kemper House Highland Heights will also boast a large community space, full kitchen, beauty parlor, spa and private family dining area. Multiple gardens and courtyards scattered across the grounds add to the ambiance of facility. The building was designed by Bill Davison of Davison Smith Certo Architects in Westlake, Ohio as a Design/Build project.

The nearly $7 million project, which will join the Kemper House family of facilities currently located in Mentor, Strongsville and Olmsted Falls, Ohio, is on a fast-paced schedule with an anticipated completion date of June 2014.
