Fort Lauderdale Therapy Practice Announces Free Couples Workshop
Free two-hour Saturday workshop offers couples important communication skills in brief, intimate format.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, October 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern Mark Jacobson, M.S. (http://solutionfocusedcouples.com/) announced that he will hold a free workshop for couples on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 10 am until noon. Said Mr. Jacobson, “This workshop is a great opportunity for couples to strengthen their relationship using the simple skills and techniques they’ll learn in a safe, intimate setting. I’m only opening it up to a handful of couples, so it will be a small, informal group. Plus, it’s going to be held on a Saturday morning, so it should be convenient for working people.”
Jacobson, who is trained in systemic family therapy approaches and a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, practices Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). He explains, “Research suggests that SFBT has the potential to create lasting, positive change in a relationship in just a few sessions compared to other traditional forms of therapy—typically fewer than ten.”
The couples workshop will cover communication techniques, discovering your strengths as a couple, how to have a “good” argument and more.
