Diamond In The Rough Youth Development Program, Inc. Hosts Leading Ladies Luncheon and Scholarship Benefit

Diamond In The Rough, Inc. will recognize six remarkable women for their outstanding contributions, and present each with a Leading Lady Award, at a benefit to provide scholarships for girls. The Leading Lady Award recognizes women who are making a significant impact as leaders, and are change agents in various arenas. Atlanta, GA, October 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Diamond In The Rough Youth Development Program, Inc. (DITR) will celebrate ten years of providing mentoring, leadership training and family enrichment activities to girls and families. This significant milestone will be marked with the Leading Ladies Luncheon and Scholarship Benefit, to honor women who are making a significant impact as leaders, and are change agents in various arenas.

The 2013 Leading Lady Award honorees include youth advocate and national speaker, Yvonne Harvey Williams of Speak2Inspire; Business mogul Lisa Nicole Cloud; Community leader and family advocate Eslene Richmond-Shockley of Caring for Others, Inc.; Pastor Lisa Musser, first lady of Tabernacle International Church; Ari Russell, Executive Director of GUIDE, Inc. and founder of the Georgia Teen Institute; and youth advocate and abstinence educator Jackie Brewton of MotivationN3D.

The “pink carpet” affair will be hosted at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 11:00 am - 2:30 pm. In addition to honoring Leading Ladies, the event will highlight the tremendous impact this award-winning, faith-based, non-profit organization is making in the world. Attendees will have the opportunity to patronize vendors and bid for items in a silent auction. A portion of event proceeds will be used to endow scholarships for the youth members of DITR.

DITR founder and Executive Director, Nicole Steele, states, “We have made it our mission to prepare, inspire, nurture and provide knowledge to girls of all ages over the past 10 years. Through the support of our incredible volunteers and collaborative partners, we have successfully provided preventive programs and enrichment activities to over 4,000 youth and families. We are honored to be celebrating ten powerful years of service, while also saluting women who have been trail blazers in their communities and who serve as 'real' models to the next generation.”

The event will feature Kanika Starr Reynolds as Mistress of Ceremonies, a tribute by poet and tap dancer, Jay White, and a guest appearance by radio personality and speaker, Cynthia Harper.
