Author James Zimmerman to Launch New Book, "Deliverance at Hand!" at Minnesota Atheist Monthly Meeting
Minneapolis, MN, October 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- James Zimmerman, co-host of Atheists Talk Television Show and author of the new release "Deliverance at Hand!" will give readers and curious minds a first hand account of his life as a loyal, zealous Jehovah's Witness and his subsequent defection from that faith at his official book launching on October 20, 2013.
Mr. Zimmerman will be presenting at 2pm on October 20, 2013 at the October monthly meeting of the Minnesota Atheists to be held at the Apple Valley Community Center at 14603 Hayes Road in Apply Valley. The event is free and open to the public. Mr. Zimmerman will not only discuss his new memoir, but also compare the Jehovah's Witness religion with other religions, discuss the Jehovah's Witnesses' claimed evidence for believing we’re living in the last days, explain what nonbelievers often get wrong about the religion, and reveal some little-known aspects of the Jehovah's Witness religion. He will also shed some light on the Jehovah's Witness policy of shunning former members, citing examples from his own life. A question-and-answer session will follow.
"Deliverance at Hand!", the Redemption of a Devout Jehovah’s Witness, gives an insider’s account of what it is like to belong to an insulated, apocalyptic community which shuns anyone who leaves it, including family and friends. As James matures, fissures begin to form in the bedrock of his fundamentalist Jehovah's Witness belief system, creating a huge predicament: He is no longer a believer, but leaving a religious community that teaches its members to shun former members would have deep and painful ramifications.
