Quantum Hosts a National Conference
The Chief Guest Professor D.V Singh, Former Vice Chairman AICTE and Former Director IIT Roorkee appreciated the institute for achieving high standards of learning in such a short time. Mr. Singh, an eminent name in mechanical engineering, explained that the field of mechanical engineering, among other significant aspects, emphasizes the optimum use of energy, materials, time, and effort to satisfy the social needs through the design of machines & structure.

Reflecting this truth, Quantum School of Technology organized one more successful conference in its history on the topic “The Recent Advances In Mechanical Engineering” on 5th and 6th of October 2013.
The Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, other invited Guests and Members of Management inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp at the idol of the lord Ganesha. On this very auspicious occasion the students performed “Nirtya” accompanied with the lord Ganesh vandana that mesmerized and rejuvenated everyone sitting over there.
The Chief Guest Professor D.V Singh, Former Vice Chairman AICTE and Former Director IIT Roorkee appreciated the institute for achieving high standards of learning in such a short time. Mr. Singh, an eminent name in mechanical engineering, explained that the field of mechanical engineering, among other significant aspects, emphasizes the optimum use of energy, materials, time, and effort to satisfy the social needs through the design of machines & structure, and helps in developing a thorough understanding of dynamic process, involving these systems.
Prof. R.C. Bahl laid particular emphasis on research for development of new energy sources which is most crucial for survival of mankind. It is therefore, highly befitting that at this time the Quantum School of Technology is hosting a conference with a focus on recent developments in this important field. He further said that Quantum has set an excellent milestone in the field of education. With the sincere and untiring efforts of the Founder President Shri Shyam Sunder Goyal Ji, Chairman Shri Ajay Goyal, Director General Dr. S.C Handa and others, this institute has become a centre of innovation in the field of Teaching-Learning Process. He finally concluded that Quantum Global Campus is quite lucky because of its proximity to IIT Roorkee, which motivates its students to keep them abreast with the latest innovations in Technology.
Professor S.C Handa, the Director General welcomed all the Guests and Conference delegates and thanked them for their gracious presence. He began his address with a pledge that Quantum is committed to imparting cutting edge technical education to its students and makes it a temple of learning. Professor V.K Goel, Conference Chairman, gave an outline of conference activities and informed that a total of 42 papers are to be presented in the conference. There are seven key-note speakers from top Engineering colleges in Uttarakhand IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi and G.B Pant Engineering College, Pauri. The conference has been guided by an international advisory committee, consisting of Professor D.P Garg from USA, Professor Albrecht Eiber from Germany, Professor Sohan Sarin from Netherlands, Professor Subhash Rakhaja from Canada and Professor Gopinath Chattopadhyay from Australia.
Professor R.C Bahl, former Vice Chancellor Baddi University and Guests of Honor at the conference emphasized the role of engineering technologies such as ‘Nano Technology’ and ‘Robotics’ in national development. Continuing the program, the keynote speaker for the inaugural session, Professor N.K Mehta gave an overview of advanced manufacturing methods and technology and explained how these technologies can help in improving the product quality and increase the industrial output.
On the arrival of the Chief Guest Dr. D.V Singh, Very Special Guest Dr. R.C Bahl, Special Guest other invited guests; the students of the campus gave a huge round of applause and a hearty welcome with flowers.
The Management and other officials of the Institute honored them with bouquets and felicitated them, with mementos. The lively performance of folk dance by students in the auditorium highlighted the Indian culture and tradition that won the hearts of all present.
The chairman Mr. Ajay Goyal assured that Quantum named by IMRB International Survey as best engineering colleges in Uttarakhand, would always preserve a high standard of education by organizing such academic programs from time to time.
During the Conference Several Prominent persons in this field from the IIT’s and other renowned Institutes gave Keynote addresses in the technical sessions. Several other Researchers presented papers on the research being conducted by them. A special students’ session was also organized where the young budding engineers presented their ideas.
Towards the end of the inaugural session Dean Academics Er. M.S Gupta proposed a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, management, organizers and all those who contributed to the conference for sparing their precious time from their tight schedules with their blessings for the bright future of the students.
The conference was summed up by Mr. Kanan HOD of Mechanical Dept. He admired the excellent transmission of knowledge, education and technologies through this useful conference and hoped that such academic conferences would help the technocrats in achieving the quality knowledge. The inaugural session came to an end with the traditional “Kulgeet” presented by the students.
