Hotel Security Officer Receives Award for Valor

Boston Hotel Security Officer Receives Award For Valor at September 11th Award Ceremony.

Boston, MA, September 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The International Lodging Safety and Security Association awarded its highest honor at an award ceremony held at Boston’s Four Season’s Hotel on Tuesday September 11th 2007. The recipient of the association’s first ever Award for Valor, Jason Bonenfant, 25, a security officer at the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, was honored for his heroic actions in saving a man from drowning in Boston Harbor.

On the Morning of June 26th, Jason Bonenfant was on duty at the Marriott Long Wharf when he was notified about a man who had jumped into Boston Harbor. While others stood around and merely watched as the man lay face down in the water and appeared dead, Bonenfant took off his jacket and shoes and jumped into Boston Harbor, rescued the man, and pulled him to shore where he began breathing on his own. Jason stayed with the man until police and paramedics arrived and he was transported to the hospital.
