Earned Value Management (EVM) CAM Exam Now Available
Management Technologies’ announces the availability of the CAM^EXAM™ on-line test to evaluate control account manager (CAM) knowledge, determine EVM training effectiveness, and reduce the duration of CAM interviews. Individuals may purchase a one, two, or three attempt package. Organizations may order quantity and customized packages to address their specific EVMS. Brea, CA, October 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Management Technologies has just released their on-line CAM^EXAM™ to test the knowledge commonly expected of EVMS Control Account Managers (CAMs).
The CAM^EXAM may be used to evaluate a potential CAM’s EVM knowledge, determine corporate CAM training effectiveness, or assess current CAMs’ knowledge in key EVM concepts often expected of contractors. It can also reduce EVMS surveillance team workload by providing pre-screening and partial substitution for one-on-one CAM interviews. Hiring supervisors may use the exam as part of their CAM candidate evaluation and selection.
According to company President Ray W. Stratton, PMP, EVP, “There is certain key knowledge expected from CAMs regardless of the how CAM training and experience was accomplished. By providing the CAM^EXAM to the EVM community we hope to provide a standardized test for individuals, training organizations, contractors, and government teams to assess CAMs’ ANSI 748 EVM knowledge.”
The CAM^EXAM consists of one hundred randomly selected true-false or multiple choice questions from a pool of over two hundred questions. Eighty-five CAM^EXAM questions address core EVMS concepts that are key to a CAM’s understanding of ANSI 748 EVMS. Fifteen of the selected questions are mathematical and test the computation of EV (BCWP) from textual or tabular progress information. Common EVM analysis and forecasting formulas are also tested.
The CAM^EXAM is ninety minutes and may be paused and restarted. To maintain the test’s integrity any previously answered questions cannot be revisited.
A passing score is seventy percent. Successful completion results in a personalized certificate that may be printed as proof of exam success. Incorrectly answered questions and an explanation of the correct answer are provided once the exam is completed.
The CAM^EXAM questions were created by a team of AACE Earned Value Professionals (EVPs) and other highly experienced earned value management experts, and from publicly available sources of “CAM interview questions.”
The CAM^EXAM is offered with options to select one, two or three attempts at the time of purchase. It is economically priced so individuals can take the CAM^EXAM while seeking that CAM position.
