Amarillo, TX, October 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Curtis Shelburne’s new Christmas album has just been released. “One Christmas Night” is a mellow mix of Christmas favorites, along with some new songs added in—all sure to help light up the season with joy. The album is now available, and so is Curtis for concerts guaranteed to bring on smiles and holiday good will.
An accomplished singer and performer, Curtis says, “Christmas is my favorite time of the year! The music of the season has always been one of its best features. When my first album was released in August 2012, I was having a great time singing its songs in a variety of venues, but--no surprise!--the closer we got to Christmas, the more I began to sing the music of the season. Before long, I realized that I actually had more Christmas songs in my repertoire than other sorts--and I knew for sure that I was LOVING singing them. So... an idea for a Christmas album was born!”
Curtis continues, “I began to float the idea by my wife, by my producer Darrell Bledsoe, and... we hopped onto the sleigh! By the end of February, we were making plans, picking songs, talking to songwriters and arrangers, and lining up studio time and musicians. By early May we were in Rushing Winds Studio in North Carolina recording instrumentals, and by mid-June we were at Covenant Recording in Amarillo recording vocals!”
When asked if it was hard to sing “Let It Snow!” when recording in July in blazing temperatures, Curtis replied, “Not at all! You sing with deep feeling!” And he continued, “In September, the album was ready to go, and I could not be more pleased. Once again, I realize how many talented folks it takes to make such a big project something you're really proud of. I'm so very thankful for all the great folks who helped make this happen, and I pray that God's joy shines through every note, whether it’s in 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,' 'Christmas Must Be Tonight,' 'Mary’s Boy Child,' or 'Silent Night!' I really hope folks like what they hear. I think they will! I’m deeply humbled when folks give my music a listen. It’s an honor and a privilege that I don’t take lightly.”
“One Christmas Night” is available through Curtis Shelburne’s website, www.CurtisShelburne.com (as are sample tracks), also on the web at CD Baby, at iTunes, at Hastings in Amarillo, Texas, or straight from Curtis at ckshel@aol.com.
