The Playground Presents Para One + Bobmo + We Have Band + Slow Magic + Ambassadeurs ++
The Playground returns to Proud Camden on Friday the 1st of November with very special guests including Para One, Bobmo, We Have Band, Slow Magic, Ambassadeurs, Molo and many more.
London, United Kingdom, October 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Parisian DJ and producer Jean-Baptiste de Laubier aka Para One began his foray into music production amidst the French hip-hop scene in the early 2000’s where he found success as producer for famous Parisian rap crew, TTC. With this hip-hop foundation Laubier set off in myriad other directions, delving into house/electro with brilliant productions and remixing songs for the likes of Ellen Allien, Daft Punk and many more. Also, when he is not busy nurturing noises Laubier is dipping his toes into the film world, directing short films and producing soundtracks. In plain words, Para One is a 360 degree artist.
Marble and Boys Noize Records fellow Bobmo started making beats with his PlayStation at a very young age, spitting awkward tales of murder and woe. Now, as established electronic music producer, he vaunts the support of acts such as Annie Mac, Alex Metric, Para One and graced a long list of festivals including We Love Sounds (Australia), MEG (Canada), Electroni[k] (France) and WMC (Miami).
Manchester’s electronic music group We Have Band is a unique project, exploring a wide variety of sounds and influences, delivering a very intense live show. With releases on Naive Records, Kitsuné and remixes for artists like Gorillaz, Bloc Party, M83, Peter Bjorn and Jon, We Have Band have much material to showcase and fans are very excited to hear what they have in store for The Playground!
Making music while staying anonymous in the Internet age isn't only difficult, it's fun. Slow Magic calls himself “an unknown imaginary friend” and doesn’t like to show his identity: recognised by only a handmade colourful mask, Slow Magic is just that. Dreamy electronic pop made of airy synths and looping echoey vocals, mysterious in every way apart from the music.
Molo is the brainchild of French-Portuguese, Photomatic and North American, Super class. Together they create an exciting melting pot for organic beats and classically influenced melodic experimentations, often featuring the encapsulation of haunting vocals from indie artist Catarina Moreno. With their debut EP on Ground Records, an official remix for Crystal Fighters and a string of collaborations including working with Theo Parrish, Krazy Baldhead (Ed Banger Records) and many more in the pipeline, Molo are continually working hard in the studio to deliver what will be a promising year for the duo.
Volkova Sisters emerge from the Hungarian underground DIY music scene, adopting their moniker from the main characters in Pattern Recognition, written by William Gibson. Formed in 2009 their intentions were to create music reminiscent of the shimmering distortions of My Bloody Valentine combined with dreamy landscapes of the Cocteau Twins: the result? European cold-wave, with a sharper emphasis on industrial pop.
London-based Anglo/French trio N-A-I-V-E-S mix hook laden synths with big beats drums, to create pop gems that stand on the shoulders of Phoenix and the tippy toes of Prince. Get ready for some super-fresh grooves!
Experimental electronic producer and beatmaker VOICEDRONE was born where culture survives most wonderfully in its songs and round dances. Every track or sample produced by Voicedrone is just the story of his internal world, delivering everything hidden behind his eyes.
The Playground's bi-weekly Friday night features the best in up and coming and international artists. Proud can be found at The Horse Hospital, Staples Market, Chalk Farm Road, Camden Town, NW1 8AH.
