MysticArt Pictures Launches Nationwide Casting Search for a New Landmark Documentary Series About Life in America as Experienced by High School Seniors
Burbank, CA, October 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- MysticArt Pictures is searching the nation for high school seniors to take part in Senior Year, a groundbreaking new documentary series produced by Jigsaw Productions about life in America as experienced by its 17-18-year-olds. Fifteen teenagers will be filming themselves and the world around them, allowing the series to reflect their point of view and provide a portrait of a generation.
Selected students will be flown to New York City for a weekend to learn about shooting and storytelling from Oscar and Emmy-winning leaders in the documentary field. They will be given their own video equipment to keep and return home to film themselves and those around them for six months. In addition, students will be compensated for their footage and Jigsaw is pursuing grants for participants whose work best demonstrates excellence in documentary filmmaking.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for selected students to share their stories with the world and learn about filmmaking from expert documentary director/producers, who will be giving them invaluable feedback throughout the six-month process.
Jigsaw Productions won four Emmy Awards this year for its work with HBO and Showtime, and is home to director Alex Gibney, who won the Academy Award for Taxi to the Dark Side, received an Oscar nomination for Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room and a Sports Emmy nomination for ESPN's Catching Hell. Jigsaw's latest film, The Armstrong Lie, follows cyclist Lance Armstrong, and the company is producing a four-hour special about Frank Sinatra for HBO.
Senior Year is a natural fit for award-winning company MysticArt Pictures, a company that has already changed countless lives through casting and producing unique, inspirational, and uplifting programming and critically acclaimed feature films. Casting Director Katy Wallin is thrilled to take part in discovering the students who will help create this groundbreaking documentary series.
