Waxelene Teams Up with HoneyColony to Bee the Change
The petroleum jelly alternative company will donate all proceeds from special t-shirt sales to The Pollination Project.
San Francisco, CA, October 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Waxelene®, the petroleum jelly alternative, today announced that it has teamed up with HoneyColony (www.honeycolony.com) to raise money to help save the honeybees by selling HoneyColony’s “Bee the Change” t-shirts via a link on its website (https://waxelene.com/).
HoneyColony was founded to bring together people and companies who are interested in adopting healthy lifestyles and want to help each other cut through the hype and claims of natural products and remedies. This community, referred to as “the hive,” includes leading health experts, top-notch journalists, companies that uphold these values (like Waxelene) and like-minded people looking for a trusted source of information and inspiration.
“When we met with HoneyColony a few months ago it was clear that we shared the same ideals,” said Todd Cooper, CEO of Waxelene. “In particular, they have a true passion and expertise for helping the bees. Obviously Waxelene has a special interest in saving the honeybees since they provide the key ingredient in our all natural petroleum jelly alternative product. However, one in three bites of food we all take depends on bees so the plight and preservation of bees should be of concern to everyone.”
Waxelene will give all proceeds from its Bee the Change t-shirt sales back to HoneyColony who is currently earmarking a portion of the money raised through t-shirt sales for The Pollination Project (www.thepollinationproject.org), a non-profit organization that gives $1000 per day in grants to projects that change the world.
“Once we raise enough funds, the hive will choose a bee-centric project to receive the grant,” said Maryam Henein, Founder of HoneyColony and Co-Director of the film, Vanishing of the Bees. “The first step in affecting change is education. HoneyColony’s goal is to put honesty back into our food supply and empower everyone to be informed so they can become their own best health advocate. We designed the t-shirts to celebrate honeybees and to remember that change starts with us. We encourage everyone to ‘bee the change’.”
Recently, Waxelene chose the name Polleen for its popular bee logo mascot. Polleen was one of many names submitted through an online Name the Bee contest. “We really love the name,” said Cooper. “It ties in so nicely with our bee-inspired products as well as our commitment to help ‘pollinate’ the world around us with positive ideas and initiatives - for the benefit of our health and the environment. This fundraising initiative for The Pollination Project fits right in with our mission.”
Waxelene is not just a replacement for petroleum-based products. It is a major improvement because it is noticeably more effective. Waxelene’s ingredients, vitamin E oil, beeswax, organic rosemary oil, and organic soy oil, are delicately balanced to synergistically care for your skin. These all-natural ingredients are combined using a patented aeration process to create this amazing texture that won’t clog pores. Knowing that it is made in the USA with sustainable ingredients makes consumers feel good about using it every day from their head to their toes.
