Grimes Warehousing Services Reaches 1,000 Days Safety Mark
Jacksonville, FL, October 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On October 23, Grimes Warehousing Services reached a notable milestone for safety – 1,000 days without a lost time accident. This exceptional achievement underscores The Grimes Companies’ commitment to operational safety as well as customer service.
“Our high safety goals are not so that we can tout a great record, but so that we consistently meet the commitment to our employees, as well as our customers, of a safe environment for all,” explained Michael O’Leary, President of TGC. “Being accident-free means a safe and happy staff, which is our primary goal for safety. The added benefit is that our clients’ products are also safe.”
The achievement was celebrated with a company cookout and prizes for employees. “The real reward for all of us is that for 1,000 days all of us have gone home safely at the end of the day,” remarked Ike Sherlock, Vice President at TGC. “Our team looks out for each other and we take care of each other… it’s the Grimes’ way.”
Grimes Warehousing is now looking forward to the next safety milestone of 3 years, something few competitors have ever reached. “One day at a time and one load at a time; we must continue to remain diligent and avoid complacency as these have been our keys to success,” commented Neil Porter, Director of Operations for Grimes Warehousing.
TGC, a Jacksonville, Florida based company, currently operates both public and contract warehouses, light manufacturing and packaging operations, and distribution staffing out of Jacksonville, FL, along with trucking terminals in both Florida and Georgia.
