South Nassau Communities Hospital CMO Named to List of Women Hospital & Healthcare Leaders to Know

As South Nassau’s chief medical officer, Dr. Efferen (a resident of South Huntington) is responsible for facilitating medical staff interactions with hospital administration and the governing board and for assuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality medical care consistent with the hospital’s mission. She also assists with strategic planning and execution, as well as the implementation of disease management programs, and monitors the effectiveness of management practices and productivity indicators.
Dr. Efferen is board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. She was named to Becker’s Hospital Review "List of 100 Chief Medical Officers to Know," Consumers Research Council of America’s Guide to America’s Top Physicians, Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors: New York Metro Area Guide (for seven years), and Best Doctors’ Best Doctors in America.
