ABBA Wholesale Closes Physical Store to Make Way for New LA Metro Line
After over 20 years on the Westside of Los Angeles, ABBA Wholesale has closed the doors of its physical store to make way for the new Metro Expo line construction. The business will now operate entirely online at alightingstore.com
Los Angeles, CA, October 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- After over 20 years on the Westside, the iconic Lighting and Electrical Supply house, now known as ABBA Wholesale has closed its Pico Blvd location to accommodate Phase 2 of the Metro Expo Line expansion. Though met with some resistance from local residents, the project which will extend the Metro Expo Line from Culver City to Santa Monica by 2015, was approved in 2010. ABBA Wholesale owner Aaron Abergel decided to move store operations online to make way for the new developments in the area.
Abergel states the reality he faced, saying “The Metro Line will be running right through our location and the area that used to be industrial and commercial is changing.” He continues, “Closing our physical location was a difficult decision, but we have confidence that our customers will benefit by moving our inventory online.”
Though residents and businesses will be impacted by the Metro Expo Line expansion, ABBA Wholesale has continued to be a leader in the lighting industry by embracing the benefits online retail affords customers and their business. The website www.alightingstore.com has already seen a steady stream of new customers and sales, as customers embrace the ease of shopping from home, while still having access to expert advice from ABBA Wholesale's expert staff.
Abergel points out, “The electrical and lighting business has changed dramatically since the 90s in that people are buying a significant amount of their merchandise from online retailers.” Online retail allows ABBA Wholesale to extend their superior customer service beyond the reach of Southern California and Abergel remarks that focusing the family business online has allowed him to “keep costs low and supply high.”
Once named West LA Wholesale, the business was renamed to ABBA Wholesale by Abergel in 2012. Through AlightingStore.com, Abergel will continue to build on the reputation of superior customer service and an extensive inventory that made his family’s business the most successful lighting and electrical supply house in West Los Angeles.
AlightingStore.com is based in the U.S.A. and will carry a full range of lighting products suitable for outdoor areas, home renovations, and new building construction alike. Rooted in the customer service and expert knowledge that has made the Abergel family business a Southern California leader in lighting sales and distribution, the ALS sales team is available by email or phone to answer any questions. With decades in the business and competitive pricing options, ALightingStore.com brings their extensive product line, expertise, and customer service to online shoppers.
