He has created the “Ernie Anastos Global Multicultural Media Center” at New York Institute of Technology with worldwide campuses. Mr. Anastos has covered the major stories that have shaped the last three decades. He met with Fidel Castro and traveled to the countries of El Salvador and Nicaragua. He has interviewed top world leaders in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Anastos has also appeared in major motion pictures. He has 30+ Emmy Awards and nominations and is the first New York TV anchor to receive the “Lifetime Emmy Award”. His many other awards include The Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Writing and New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He has written two books and is a magazine columnist. He is affiliated with several prestigious societies. Mr. Anastos was born in New Hampshire. He obtained a B.A. in Sociology from Northeastern University, conducted Graduate Studies at Columbia University and has Honorary Ph.D.’s from four colleges. He is married to Kelly and has two children. He enjoys horseback riding and painting.
