Gang Switch 16 Channels of Model 7239 AB Switch via Push-button or Remote Control
The Model 7239 16-channel CAT5 AB switch enables simultaneous gang-switching of all 16 channels via local push-button or via remote ASCII commands.
Cranston, RI, November 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, USA, has announced the new Model 7239 16-Channel RJ45 CAT5 A/B Switch with remote access. The user can gang switch all sixteen channels to an alternate path simultaneously via a push-button or remotely via ASCII commands. The Model 7239 allows the user to access, on each channel, one of two separate devices via a device connected into the channel’s Common port.
All of this switching capability is packed into a 2U, full rack size, black, anodized chassis. The chassis provides EMI/RFI shielding. The switch is designed with a simple push-button to select A or B. The switch position status can be attained via the front-panel LED display or via the remote RS232, RS422/485 serial port (DB9) located on the rear panel. The remote control is via (1) DB9 (F) connector that accepts RS232, RS422/485 serial data ASCII commands that allow the user to control the switch position, lockout the front-panel operations and obtain the switch status. The port connectors include (48) RJ45 female connectors. Sixteen of the connectors are labeled 1-16 in each of the groups, A, B and COMMON.
All 8 pins of the RJ45 interface are switched. The switch is transparent to data speed and format. The switch is certified for CAT5 compliance. The Model 7239 retains the last switch position in the event of power loss and continues to pass data. The rack-mount configuration is standard. The switch requires customer supplied 24 VDC, 500 mA power input. A mating power connector is included with the Model 7239.
The Model 7239 is available for export worldwide. The switch dimensions are 19.0” W x 3.5” H x 14.0” D (48.3 x 8.9 x 35.6 cm). The unit weighs approximately 9 lbs. (4.0 Kg). The Model 7239 is available at a discount to municipalities, schools, and government agencies via GSA Schedule GS-35F-0286V. Custom length RJ45 CAT5 cables are available for the switch installation.
