LuminArte has been fortunate enough to work with several celebrated career artists like Shahla Rosa, a Canadian-American Modern Surrealist. Rosa’s paintings, which are inspired by Andre Breton, Sigmund Freud, and Dante Alighieri, deal with themes of human nature and the subconscious. She paints her deepest thoughts on canvas in an attempt to shed light on her inner self, searching through what she calls the Awaken Subconscious. She interprets her emotional reactions to the world’s beauty and falsity in a search for universal truths.
German born painter, Katrin Alvarez, is qualified as a lawyer and editor, spent two years as a volunteer journalist, and has published satirical poems and a novel; however, painting has remained the basic impulse of her life. Her paintings and poetry depict the overwhelming beauty of existence as well as its cruel dark sides. She has won numerous international awards including the Leonardo Award for Applied Arts First Place at the 2013 Chianciano Biennale; and her paintings are included in numerous prestigious international collections such as the New Fantastic Art Museum in Vienna.
Jose Manuel Santiago Ribeiro is a Surrealist painter from Coimbra, Portugal, whose paintings illustrate deep concerns about modern society and its individual and collective behavior. Having exhibited in Paris, Madrid, Moscow, Warsaw, Barcelona, Granada, Belgrade, Lisbon, Dallas Texas, Florence in Italy, Romania, Macedonia, Monte Negro and more. Santiago’s work is featured in numerous private collections as well as in the Collection of Contemporary Art of the National Museum Machado de Castro and in the Bissaya Barreto Foundation in Coimbra, Portugal.
Austrian artist, Otto Rapp, was heavily influenced by the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, exploring the realms of his “Inner Universe” through meticulously detailed paintings and illustrations that depict a singular awareness and unity within conscious and subconscious states. “I do not concern myself with the elimination of the rational, the exclusivity of the irrational and the absurd, but presentation of the conscious and subconscious world as an inseparable whole. I draw my inspirations from the layered labyrinth underground which represents the other side of life, which is an inner imaginative-inspirational counterpart to the outer world, expressed with the help of logic-alogic associations, analogisations and symbolism.”
Liba Waring Stambollion was born to American parents but grew up in South East Asia. She moved to the United States in her teenage years, and currently lives in Paris, France, where she paints, writes, makes books, and designs furniture. Ecology, erotica, and the sacred are the recurrent themes in her work. “My art is sourced through my dreams, meditations, vision quests and my relationship with nature. I am inspired and resonate with the message of Love from people of all cultures and from all ages.”
