New CD by Iggy Taylor
Singer/songwriter from Manheim PA releases new CD.
Manheim, PA, November 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- One roadied for former Grand Funk’s Mark Farner, another played guitar on a Michael Jackson album. One backed up Chuck Berry and another is a former member of the Allman Brothers. Add to the mix the Beatle’s recording studio. What’s the connection? Answer: They all helped to create a new CD.
Award winning, singer/songwriter, Iggy Taylor, has released his latest CD titled “Ataraxis”, which means the absence of stress or anxiety. The CD contains 10 original songs all written and performed by Taylor. Iggy has been best known as the artist “Bad Betsy”. Releasing six CD’s of original music, he donated the majority of his profits to local charities, simply “trying to make a difference.”
At the age of fourteen, Taylor formed his first band after listening to a Grand Funk Railroad album. A girl in the audience caught his eye and the two dated throughout High School marrying in 1973. The couple has been married for over 40 years.
September, 2009, Taylor’s wife, Linda, suffered a brain aneurism leaving her paralyzed confined to a wheelchair and forced to live in a nursing facility. In 2012, after much “red tape”, Iggy found a way to bring Linda back home to live. The song “I Do” is the ninth track on Ataraxis and Iggy’s promise to always care for her. Long time friend and former band mate, John Daubert, produced and helped co-write the heart-felt song at Sub Studios in Staten Island N.Y. Daubert once backed up Chuck Berry for two shows in Margate NJ. Mastering was done by one of the world’s best known recording studios; Abbey Road in London England. After hearing “I Do”, former record producer for Bruce Springsteen, Mike Appel said “nicely done and very Beatlesque indeed.”
In 2007, fate, friends and Industry contacts brought Iggy together with Mark Farner, formerly of Grand Funk Railroad. “I was given the opportunity to thank Mark for the inspiration and joy which lead me to my love of music and meeting my best friend, Linda.”
Recorded in and using only Delaware musicians, “Rosie, Rosie, Rosie” is a bluesy rocker featuring Nick Bucci on lead guitar and Johnny Neel, formerly of the Allman Brothers, on the Hammond organ. Ritchie Rubini, formerly of the Caufields is on drums and Al Price bass.
Playing on albums for Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefen, Celine Dion and countless others guitarist and producer, Mike Caro produced and recorded “It’s You” featuring The Too Little Time Band. The final song brings the CD to a rocking Freebird style close.
