Masked Gamblers Raise $5K for Local Charities

Charlotte, NC, November 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Charlotte-based brokerage Lodestone Real Estate raised $5,000 for local charities at their first annual charity masquerade, Poker Face Charlotte, on Friday, October 25, 2013.

Proceeds from the night’s festivities were divided between three local non-profit organizations—Alzheimer’s Association (Western Carolina Chapter), Title I School Belleview Elementary and Murray’s Fund. The charities were selected by the Lodestone team based on firsthand experience with these organizations and appreciation for the essential services they provide to the Charlotte community.

“I am truly grateful to the Lodestone Real Estate team,” said Belleview Elementary Music Instructor Kenton Simon whose Heart Strings for Guitars project was fully funded by the Lodestone donation. “The students are eager to learn how to play the guitar, and I am excited that now I am able to provide them this opportunity."

Belleview Elementary plans to put the remainder of the donated funds toward much-needed student supplies. The Alzheimer’s Association plans to use the donated funds to support service programs at their local facility; and the donation to Murray’s Fund will cover veterinary care for pet owners who cannot afford cancer treatment for their animal.

“We are so pleased with how much support we've received from the local community. That was really the foundation for the resounding success of this event,” said Lodestone Owner Marissa Boyle. “We’re looking forward to next year's event and how much more we can do for worthy causes in our own neighborhood."
