Foodies Ravenous for Cooking Club
Get Together Gourmets Inundated with Interest. Second Organizational Meeting Scheduled.
Bradenton, FL, September 19, 2007 --(PR.com)-- It seems the local foodies have been waiting quite awhile to connect with others who share their desire for good food and good company. Scott Duncan, owner of Duncan’s Creative Kitchens and organizer of Get Together Gourmets, a fledgling cooking club, was inundated with requests to attend the premier outing. So many people wanted to be a part of this culinary group that a second organizational meeting was quickly scheduled.
The original meeting drew 44 food enthusiasts to Duncan’s Creative Kitchens, a kitchen design studio at 5529 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton. Attendees from as far away as St. Pete, Sun City Center, and Largo joined others from Bradenton, Palmetto, and Sarasota to sample a selection of homemade hors d’oeuvres prepared by Scott Duncan and co-organizer Carol Forrey. The wine was specifically paired with the appetizers by Joy Kay, owner of DiVine Wines & Tasting Room of Bradenton.
A handful of professionally trained chefs joined an eager group of self-taught kitchen aficionados, all offering suggestions for a structure and format of an ongoing cooking club. Plans are set to come together again on October 20, 2007, to formalize the logistics. Cooking club members will “Create Your Favorite Finger Foods” for the event.
Scott Duncan, the organizer of Get Together Gourmets, said, “I am absolutely overwhelmed at the response we have received. I’m excited about this new food adventure. We have definitely touched on something that is of great interest to quite a few local people.”
Anyone interested in joining this band of gourmets is invited to register for the encore organizational gathering on Saturday, October 13, 2007. Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6pm – 8pm at Duncan’s Creative Kitchens, 5529 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton. There is no cost for membership in Get Together Gourmets, only the expense of ingredients in the dishes that members prepare.
