CASY Awarded the Seal of Distinction by the Call of Duty Endowment
CASY will receive a $30,000 grant and the honor of being a top rated non-profit for veteran employment.
Lake Saint Louis, MO, November 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Corporate America Supports You (CASY) has been selected as one of seven organizations who were awarded the “Seal of Distinction” from Activision’s Call of Duty Endowment. CASY's mission is to help place military and veterans into positions that are a fit with their skills, experience, and training that they acquired during their service.
Stacy Bayton, Chief Operating Officer of CASY, said, “We are truly honored to have been selected by CODE to receive the Seal of Distinction. Plainly put our focus is to expand the employment opportunities for our military, veterans, and military spouses; to help these men and women start and maintain fulfilling careers during their many transitions. The seal and the relationship with CODE opens our organization up to new opportunities and resources that allow us to better serve those within our military and veteran communities.”
According to the CODE press release CASY “has proven to be one of the most efficient and productive organizations we have encountered based on cost-per-veteran job placement.” In addition to the seal, CASY received a $30,000 grant to aid them in their mission.
The Call of Duty Endowment is a private nonprofit foundation that supports organizations placing former service members into rewarding careers while raising awareness of the value veterans bring to the civilian workplace. The Seal of Distinction award was created in 2013 to highlight nonprofit organizations that have proven to be the most effective and efficient at placing veterans into high quality careers.
Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment, said, “Despite recent data showing that veterans have unique skill sets and offer potential employers a competitive advantage, the reality is that our youngest veterans continue to face a much higher unemployment rate than their non-veteran peers. We are proud to be recognizing those organizations best-equipped at helping place these veterans in jobs, while shining a bright light on the benefits of hiring veterans.”
All awardees were vetted by the Call of Duty Endowment and independently evaluated in a pro bono project by Deloitte. Deloitte’s evaluation took a rigorous approach when looking at all of the potential awardee’s programs. This evaluation included cost per hire amounts, total number of Veterans served and being served, and potential for long-term growth.
