Naperville Kitchen Remodel Wins National Design Award with Open Shelving & Soft Gray Tones

Hinsdale, IL, November 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A Naperville, IL kitchen has been quite the industry favorite in 2013, tying in design trends such as open shelving and soft, gray hues. Normandy Designer Ann Stockard recently received two awards for the kitchen, as industry peers applaud her ability to create a new spin on a white kitchen by pairing it with dark flooring. “The homeowners wanted a crisp, white kitchen, and what better way to make a white kitchen pop than with dark floors,” says Stockard. “To soften the contrast, we incorporated a light gray throughout the space,” says Stockard.

“To improve the layout without drastically changing the footprint, we incorporated a banquette to ease the traffic flow. The banquette was able to pull double duty as seating and storage,” commented Stockard. “Overall, this was a great project to work on and it turned out just as planned, leaving everyone involved very happy with the final results.”

The kitchen received a Master Design Award Honorable Mention from Qualified Remodeler Magazine, as well as previously receiving further national recognition with a Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
