Local Remodelers Roll Up Their Sleeves for Marathon Daffodils
EM NARI members planted hundreds of bulbs and raised $1,000 in support of the Marathon Daffodils project -- a grassroots effort to line the 26.2 mile Boston Marathon route with 100,000 daffodils in time for the 2014 Marathon.
Boston, MA, November 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Local remodeling professionals from EM NARI members spent November 8th and 9th in support of the Marathon Daffodils project. The events of the 2013 Boston Marathon had a profound impact on our community. Members of EM NARI, hoping to send a message of hope and resilience, joined together in support the 2014 Boston Marathon and Boston Strong through the Marathon Daffodils project.
Led by EM NARI member Rick Slavinsky of Curb Appeal Landscaping in Norton, EM NARI members volunteered their time planting bulbs at Trinity Church and at Kenmore Square in Boston this past weekend. Members also raised $1,000 in support of the project. In leading the project Slavinsky shared that, “we were all touched by the events of last April. Supporting the Marathon Daffodils is just one way for our organization to come together to show our support of Boston Strong and Boston Marathon races for years to come.”
Jim Lavallee of Auburn attended Saturday morning at Kenmore Square with his daughter. According to Lavallee, "My daughter was very motivated and inspired by the experience. It made it possible for her to see how satisfying it is to be involved in such a great show of support for those affected by the tragedy."
Members of EM NARI come together regularly to support community service projects that make a positive impact on our region. Past projects have benefited Room to Dream, the Plummer Home for Boys and Minuteman ARC.
