The Spine Health Foundation Receives Acceptance to Present at International Spine Conference
The Spine Health Foundation, Inc. (SHF) chosen to present at the 14th Annual Conference of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) in Miami Beach, FL April 30-May 2 2014.
Johnson City, TN, November 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Spine Health Foundation, Inc. (SHF) chosen to present at the 14th Annual Conference of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) in Miami Beach, FL April 30-May 2 2014. ISASS is a global, scientific and educational society providing an independent venue to address the issues involved with all aspects of basic and clinical science of the function of the spine for surgeons, scientists, inventors and others. ISASS is dedicated to advancing major evolutionary steps in spine surgery.
SHF Abstract, “Reducing Disparity in Specialized Spine Care Coverage” will be presented by lead author, Dr. Morgan Lorio, Orthopedic Surgeon and Official Spokesperson for SHF. Dr. Lorio will provide critical information regarding pre and post intervention for spine surgery patients who would have otherwise not received medical care. The presentation will also address the growing changes in healthcare coverage, specifically, specialized spine care and the increasing need for SHF.
“This acceptance provides us with an awesome opportunity to share the remarkable improvements made in the lives of those who received care through SHF. I believe this will open dialogue with other spine professionals who have interest in someday opening a SHF chapter in their city. The need for SHF is growing not only in our region, but nationally,” stated, Dr. Lorio.

Founded in August 2010, SHF is a non-profit organization advocating on behalf of uninsured or under-insured individuals affected by spinal injuries or disorders. SHF provides eligible individuals access to specialized spine care, helping them get back to life. Since 2011, over 300 medically related resources including 15 spine surgeries have been provided to individuals throughout our region. Approximately $1M in in-kind donations has been contributed by area healthcare providers and businesses.
