Florida Bible College to Reopen in Orlando
Orlando, FL, November 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- After several months of mutual discernment and prayer, the Board of Trustees of Florida Bible College and the Board of Elders of Circle Community Church in Orlando have entered into a covenant partnership that will allow the college to utilize the church facilities as its anchor campus.
FBC alumnus and CCC Pastor, Rev. Ron Hoffmann, has been an enthusiastic supporter of the conversation, and looks forward to the impact the partnership will have on his congregation, the surrounding community, and the world, "Along with the other Circle Elders we are thrilled to welcome the official restart of Florida Bible College at our facility here in Orlando. For twenty-one years here I have been proclaiming the free grace of God in our Lord Jesus Christ and I am truly excited to be a vital part of teaching in my alma mater where I first learned of God's grace."
Florida Bible College is coming full circle and returning to its roots, having been established in 1962 in the facilities of another church, Grove Community Church, in Miami. After having temporarily ceasing operations in 1996, Florida Bible College will resume its purpose of "maturing believers in Jesus Christ into fully-committed, biblically grace-oriented, knowledgeable, articulate, balanced, evangelistic disciples who are faithful, competent, and effective in serving as the hands and feet and voice of Jesus in the world and in His church."
The trustees have set a goal of quickly raising the $250,000 needed to move the college along to the place where it can open its doors to students. Alumni and others interested in investing in the ministry of the college can make contributions at the college website. Pastor Hoffmann exhorts, "We ask that you please pray for our good God to be exalted; for our donors who will give from the joy of His indescribable love; for our students who will learn to love our gracious Lord and His Word of Truth; and for our faculty and staff who love the God of the Word as well as the Word of God."
To allow graduates to see firsthand the new home of their alma mater, the 2014 Florida Bible College Alumni Association Reunion set for the Labor Day weekend will be held at the new campus.
