Walford and North Shropshire College's Enterprise and Development Team Represents UK at Europe-Wide Renewable Energy Meeting
Phil Ridley and Liz Wilcox, Manager and Assistant Manager, of the Enterprise and Development department of Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) are to be involved in the development of a new Europe-wide, Renewable Energy, qualification.
Shropshire, United Kingdom, November 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Enterprise and Development are part of the Leonardo Partnership Project - Network for Vocational Education and Training in Renewable Energy (NetVET-RE), which is funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme and includes Germany, France, Turkey and Spain as well as the UK.
The aim of the project is to develop a European Qualification Network in the field of renewable energies; a unique qualification that, once finalised, will be sufficiently adaptable to be valid throughout the whole of Europe.
Phil and Liz have just returned from the first partnership meeting which took place in Albi, France this month where they were representing the UK. The initial meeting was to discuss and develop the roles and responsibilities of each partner country. All the partners will be involved in the development of the qualification and defining the modules. WNSC will use their experience and expertise in the field of renewable energy to develop the ‘Farm-Based Renewable Energy’ module. The module will incorporate new ideas and practices as well as making use of all that has proved to be successful in the past.
Phil commented, "As a College we will be contributing to the Biogas module of this exciting new qualification which will be aimed at young people and trainees and will be pitched at a vocational level to make it suitable for a wider range of interested parties. Great progress was made at the first meeting towards developing a trans-national training course in renewable energy practice. We saw some innovative ideas in France with animal-feed plants gearing up to produce fuel pellets using agricultural bi-products."
The project is planned to span two years with the third meeting of the partnership taking place in the UK in October 2014, hosted by WNSC.
