Art at Adsoka Opening September 28
Minneapolis, MN, September 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Adsoka will hold its sixth Art at Adsoka event on Friday, September 28. The lead artist of the show is Ray Becoskie, a self-taught painter who finds inspiration everywhere.
“I pretty much have a hair-trigger for inspiration. It comes from social interaction most of the time, but I’ve been inspired by toothpaste and beaver pelts as well,” says Becoskie.
Becoskie’s paintings encompass an interesting combination of balance and contradiction, completed with an interesting title which can form three ways. Becoskie said, “I have titles that I’ll build the paintings from, and then I have paintings that have no problem saying who they are. Then there are the paintings that refuse to do either, causing a whole ruckus in the system, forcing a mess of rule changes.”
The art will be displayed through November in Adsoka. The art opening is 3 to 11 p.m. on Friday, September 28 and the art will remain up through the end of November. Please visit during office hours to view the art. Work by artists Bill O’Neil and Mary Olson will also be featured.
“We are excited to continue our tradition of supporting artists though Art at Adsoka and Ray’s work is sure to be a success at the event,” says Neelu McGibbon, account manager at Adsoka.
The event is expected to attract several hundred people. Hors d’ oeuvres and beverages will be served. Music by Tambuca and Danny Sigelman of the Current and will begin at 6 p.m.
Art at Adsoka supports the arts by providing gallery space and promotional marketing. Adsoka developed Art at Adsoka in 2003 as a means to celebrate creativity and its positive influences. Previous artists include Nicholas Harper, who was named in 2007 by CNN as an artist to watch.
