Owner and Founder of The Sunglass Fix Addresses Students at Career Expo Day
Entrepreneur inspires community’s youth to pursue success.
Ocean Shores, Australia, November 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On November 5, as the Australian school year began drawing to a close, students in grades nine, 10, and 11 from across Byron Shire gathered for the enVision Byron Shire Local Careers Expo Day to meet local business professionals. Among those professionals was Craig Anderson, the owner and founder of The Sunglass Fix, who addressed those students in attendance, discussing entrepreneurship, the logistics of starting a business, and gaining funding for new ideas.
As part of a series of charitable outreach efforts by the company, this event demonstrated The Sunglass Fix’s ongoing commitment to the betterment of its community. Other efforts included the company’s sponsorship of a local art festival and its recent financial support of the Turtle Conservation Project. Anderson explained, “This is a good way to bring awareness to the company on a local level and to give back to the community, as well as to network and meet other business owners.” Speaking specifically about the career expo, Anderson called it “exciting,” noting, “It’s not everyday that you get to speak to a new class of young people who are about to enter the workforce or move on to new horizons.”
Not surprisingly, Anderson reported that both his business and the community have been very supportive of this outreach, as well as others. He also expressed his personal joy at being allowed to address the young people of Byron Shire. “It was great working with young kids to inspire them to create something new or different and to find niches in the market where they feel they could provide products or services. I really wanted them to go for it-- to try to make the world a better place by following through on their ideas and turning them into reality.”
