Join Mid-Michigan's best on Thursday, December 5th from 4:45 pm - 8:00 pm. Job-Seeker Workshops, Keynote Presentation for Businesses and Employees, then Open Networking Pre-registration is suggested at www.pinkslipmidmichigan.org.
Okemos, MI, November 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Did you know that an average worker in mid-Michigan will put $22,600 back into the economy? This "stimulus" helps businesses grow, profit more, and get into a position to potentially hire more employees. Pink Slip Mid-Michigan is comprised of ordinary citizens working to help businesses and job-seekers connect in the most efficient ways.
Pink Slip Mid-Michigan is inviting Greater Lansing-area small businesses to network with local job seekers at their December 5th event in Okemos. Not a traditional "job fair," this event will begin with education for job seekers at 4:45pm, followed by a keynote address, and open networking. Open networking allows for businesses and job seekers to work together to help each other succeed. In 2012, 15 people attending these events are now employed full time.
The keynote at 6:00pm will be "The Affordable Health Care Act: What does this mean for me in 2014" by Mr. James Fuerstenau, owner of The Fuerstenau Agency. Mr. Fuerstenau, the founding Executive Director of The Michigan Farmland and Community Alliance, is an entertaining and engaging speaker, will explain in layman's terms how employees and businesses will be affected by the most current changes in Obamacare.
The Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) and other area organizations will be on hand to provide resources and support to attendees. Addressing workforce and talent gaps is a large component of PCF’s service portfolio.
Employers wishing to learn more may email Marcus LeVeque: marcus@pinkslipmidmichigan.org.
The free event begins at 4:45 pm through 8:00 pm and takes place at Meridian Christian Church at 2600 Bennett Rd, Okemos, MI 48864.
Interested participants are encouraged to pre-register at http://www.pinkslipmidmichigan.org.
