Back2Us Radio Network: A Gurlz Guide on Air Interviews Sci-Fiction Thriller Author Teresa Dowell Vest

“When art imitates life, it’s invigorating for the artist, but when life imitates art it can be a little unnerving." These are the words Michelle Alexander, founder and creator of A Gurlz Guide wrote in her blog on Tuesday, November 19. Michelle reflected on both the newest novel by Teresa Dowell Vest, "The Passage Home" and the media buzz around the pre-sales of "TheCoin." Michelle’s blog took on a life of its own—much like the highly anticipated novel "Passage Home."

Atlanta, GA, November 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “When art imitates life, it’s invigorating for the artist, but when life imitates art it can be a little unnerving. Especially when that art speaks of current events like corporations being people, the digital centralization of currency on devices, the hatefulness in immigration reform proposals, redefining social security, the debate on same sex marriage, the difficulty in coming out with family and at work, DOMA, and the continuing, and frankly dangerous, resurgence of white supremacy groups like the KKK that today wear suits more than white hoods.”

These are the words Michelle Alexander, founder and creator of A Gurlz Guide wrote in her blog on Tuesday, November 19. Michelle reflected on both the newest novel by Teresa Dowell Vest, "The Passage Home" and the media buzz around the pre-sales of "TheCoin." Michelle’s blog took on a life of its own—much like the highly anticipated novel "Passage Home."

"Passage Home" had a large social media following before its release in September; and, has since created quite a buzz. It’s a not-so-futuristic novel about a time in America when it killed currency as we know it, demolished social security, closed it borders to anyone who could not prove citizenship and sent African Americans back to Africa in a mission to destroy families and an entire population of brown people.

Last night, Michelle Alexander hosted a special edition of A Gurlz Guide on Air with Teresa to talk about her book, "TheCoin," and what happens when art begins to intimate life.
