Mei Mei Street Kitchen Selects Temperature@lert to Provide Monitoring Solutions for Food Safety
Boston, MA, November 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Temperature@lert (www.TemperatureAlert.com), a leading provider of high-performance and cost effective HACCP temperature monitoring devices, has been selected by one of Boston’s best food trucks, Mei Mei Street Kitchen (www.meimeiboston.com) to provide monitoring solutions for food safety. Mei Mei Street Kitchen is using Temperature@lert’s advanced cellular device (TM-CELL400-Z) with Sensor Cloud to monitor compliance logs, temperature changes, and power outages for their refrigeration units overnight.
Margaret (Mei) Li, co-founder of Mei Mei Street Kitchen, expressed interest in the Temperature@lert's Cellular Edition to avert this type of problem, specifically to provide alerts and status reports while their food truck is parked overnight. Li wanted phone call and text message alerts in case of power failure, thereby allowing her to take corrective action to ensure the freshness of her ingredients before spoilage or molding occurs.
Li also stated that, “It's important to make sure that our ingredients stay out of the 'temperature danger zone' (40°F - 140°F), particularly potentially hazardous foods (PHFs) like the beef in our dumplings and the cheese in our Double Awesome. Temperature@lert allows us to remotely monitor our truck refrigerators so we can ensure product safety, even overnight.”
Li recalled an instance where they “once got a text message alert saying that the temperature had risen to a critical point late in the evening - my brother (Andy Li) went to our commissary immediately and found that someone had accidentally unplugged one of the fridges. If we had discovered that in the morning, we would have lost hundreds of dollars worth of product, but thanks to our Temperature@lert cellular device, we discovered it in time to save everything.”
Temperature@lert’s cellular device runs on Sensor Cloud, their web-based reporting dashboard. Temperature@lert’s cellular device works in conjunction with Sensor Cloud to alert you via email, telephone, and text message when the sensor readings rise or fall outside your acceptable range. This device and service combination can detect power and/or service interruption for added peace of mind. The cellular device can handle up to four wired sensors and 15 ZPoint wireless sensor nodes.
