About the Book (Excerpts & Info)
Since my childhood, I have been interested in other countries, the life style of people in these countries, their languages and cultures. I like learning new languages but Swahili has a special place in my heart. I heard about Swahili at Middle East Technical University for the first time when I started my Undergraduate Education in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This university with its high standards of education and diversity of foreign students, their languages and cultures gave me a great chance to meet the students from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and as I got to know these people, a huge will to learn their language (Swahili) was born in my heart. Then one of my close friends from Kenya, Humphrey Mudoga Lumadede, agreed to teach me Swahili by giving courses at the weekends and I practised the language with my other Swahili speaking friends at the University.
Deftly constructed at 220 pages, Easy Swahili for Everybody is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Foreign Language Study - Other category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Easy Swahili for Everybody meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $19.95.

About the Author
In 2001 I went to Germany for my graduate education at University of Technology Aachen in the same field. During my study as an Assistant in the Material Chemistry Institute there, I decided to change my subject of study and registered at Cologne University in the African Studies Department and started Swahili courses under the supervision of Mr. Hassan Adam. He was my Swahili teacher and helped me a lot in improving myself. Thanks to his help and classes I acquired a deep understanding of the language both grammatically and verbally. After having felt confident with the language, it was time for me to start writing this book. After years of struggling, I finally managed to finish this book and found the chance to share my knowledge with the people who are interested in this language or just want to learn the language in order to use it during their visits to Africa for daily use. The book content was enriched with Swahili proverbs at the end of each chapter and Maasai tribe photos in order to give the readers a better understanding of the Swahili culture besides the language. This book has been prepared in such a way that readers will find it easy to comprehend the language grammar thanks to new introduced language learning method.
