Webinar on “Social Networks and the Enterprise” from EITA Global
Claude Baudoin, an independent IT consultant and Senior Consultant with the Boston-based Cutter Consortium, will be the Speaker at a webinar that EITA Global, a leading continuing education training provider in the IT space, will organize on December 19. “Social Networks and the Enterprise” is the topic of this webinar.
Fremont, CA, November 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Description:
The key differentiating factor that social media bring is their ability to combine multiple forms of information (text, audio, still pictures, video) and not just text. The social media have exploded in not just numbers of their users, but also in the way the technology and market have changed. Since 2006, there has been a dramatic expansion, with the introduction of LinkedIn, the opening of Facebook to non-students and the emergence of Google Plus and Twitter.
This webinar will examine how the developments of these media have impacted the way organizations use them for their business. Although organizations use the social media in a number of ways to grow their business; the use also brings major issues such as intrusion into people’s lives and other related problems with it.
The speaker will explain how organizations can balance the use and misuse of social media. He will suggest a “reasoned adoption” approach, which recommends the following:
o A "social media strategic framework" to organize the actions
o Limiting the time spend on ROI and TCO assessments, which are even more elusive in this area than in others
o Leveraging the knowledge and creativity of the "digital natives" to educate the "digital immigrants" in senior management, HR, and the Legal department
o Writing simple governance documents that spell out clear rules for who can belong in a social group
o Review and rewriting policies about electronic communications, making them cover all forms of communication, not just social media
o Using external or cloud-based social media platforms, instead of creating internal systems.
During the session, the speaker will cover the following areas:
o Introduction
o Defining social media
o The challenge
o Business use cases
o Fears of new technologies
o Areas of risk
o Integration challenges for IT
o Typical mistakes
o Choosing careful adoption over irrational fears
o Adoption roadmap
o Future directions
