Houston Community Answers the Call to Donate to Shriners Hospital for Children, Amazing Spaces® Storage Center’s Annual Fundraiser
Leader in self storage, Amazing Spaces Storage Centers®, raises funds to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a world-class hospital system that saves and improves the lives of children regardless of their family's ability to pay. Houston local communities rose to the challenge to donate.
Houston, TX, November 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Residents in Houston, Spring, the Medical Center and The Woodlands communities responded once again to Amazing Spaces® Storage Center’s donation drive, “Make A Difference,” proving that individuals can come together to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives. On September 1st, Amazing Spaces launched their annual “Make a Difference” Donation Campaign in which the company asked customers, associates, friends, and families to donate to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston. In no time at all, Amazing Spaces raised $874.00. To show appreciation to the communities for their contributions, Amazing Spaces matched the total amount donated, bringing the final donated figure to $1,748.00.
The “Make a Difference” Donation Campaign was spearheaded in 2001 by the Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA). The TSSA annually calls on their members to participate in the fundraising campaign by asking their customers and communities to donate. Amazing Spaces Storage Centers joined forces with the TSSA in the effort in 2004, and together we have collected over $350,000.00 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
“Every year during the fundraiser, we ask our customers to donate just $1.00. By the end of the fundraiser, it’s amazing to see that when we all work together by contributing a little, we raise a lot for the kids at the hospital!” said Missy Colgin, Property Manager of Amazing Spaces Storage Centers’ Medical Center location. All donations go directly to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. The 2013 TSSA "Make a Difference" campaign ended at the annual convention that was held this year in The Woodlands from October 27 – 29. A charity poker tournament, live auction, and silent auction took place during the convention to also raise funds to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. In total, the association was able to raise over $90,000.00 this year.
