PUMA and The Lylas join forces for a run/walk for Philippine relief. Joining forces with This Time Foundation, apl.de.ap.foundation and peakPRgroup, the event is on Sunday 24th, November, 2013, on the Santa Monica Beach, 2600 Barnard Way. 9am Registration, 11am Run/Walk. www.reliefrun4philippines.org
Los Angeles, CA, November 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- PeakPRgroup are proud to announce that The Lylas are getting ready to host a huge run/walk in Santa Monica this weekend on Sunday 24th Nov, to raise awareness and funds for their home country, the Philippines, after the recent typhoon there.
Leaving a trail of destruction in the Philippines, Typhoon Haiyan has left millions homeless and many dead. The latest casualty figures and damage reports from the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan, according to the national crisis management agency are shocking and are on the increase. National: 3,976 confirmed deaths, 1,598 missing and 18,175 injured, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. Eastern Visayas region covering the islands of Leyte and Samar: 3,725 dead, 17,821 injured and 1,574 missing. Widespread severe damage. Tacloban, Leyte's main city with a population of 220,000, lies in ruins. Communications, transport cut in many areas. Western Visayas region: 161 dead, 228 injured, 19 missing. Visayas region, which includes Cebu: 74 dead, 102 injured and 5 missing. Other regions: 16 dead, 24 injured. These numbers sadly increase daily.
The Lylas are determined to help to give something back to the place they call home. The 'PUMA Run Walk For Philippine Relief' will take place on Sunday 24th November at the Santa Monica beach (2600 Barnard Way). All ages are welcome and participants can either run or walk the 2K stretch of beach. A minimum of $10 for registration is all that is required to enjoy this morning whilst making a difference and doing some good.
The Lylas are currently busy with their new TV show on WE TV which airs on Friday nights, the show has been given rave reviews and the girls are set to take off in a big way, they are also appearing on Ellen on December 2nd, and yet still, with their busy schedule they are committed to making a difference and helping in any way they can.
Coca-Cola will be on hand to provide complimentary drinks to all runners including smartwater, Diet coke, Dasani and POWERADE. Mulberry Love juice will also be kindly handed out to the runners also. CEO Dianne Burnett said, "To be able to provide something for this cause is an honor, we see it as a privilege considering what these poor people have been through and continue to live through."
Fatburger have kindly donated their services and will be feeding the volunteers as well as donating 100% of their profits back to the apl.de.ap foundation and the This Time Foundation who have organised the run with peakPRgroup.
Runners, walkers, celebrities will check in to registration starting at 9am, the 2K run/walk will be at 11am.
