The Douglas Company Begins Construction on Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Healthcare Center
Fayetteville, NC, November 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Douglas Company, a general contractor from of Toledo, Ohio in partnership with Samet Corporation of Greensboro, NC, has broken ground on the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare Center* in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This is The Douglas Company’s second VA facility project in the past three years for Developer, Carnegie Management & Development of Westlake, Ohio.
Construction began on the $82 million ambulatory care facility in late October and is now in full swing. When completed, the LEED Silver certified Healthcare project will house primary care and mental health suites, a pharmacy, outpatient surgery, audiology and radiology services. Other unique features include a canteen with both indoor and outdoor dining and a Healing Garden area for patients to enjoy.
The Douglas Company completed a facility of similar caliber in Toledo, Ohio last August. The $16 million Toledo VA Outpatient Clinic currently serves approximately 12,000 Veterans and conducts close to 90,000 outpatient visits each year to Veterans in the Northwest Ohio area.
The 362,000 square foot Fayetteville healthcare center is a joint venture project with Greensboro, North Carolina based general contractor Samet Corporation. Architectural design is being provided by Perkins & Will, Inc. of Raleigh, NC. The new VA facility is slated for completion in June 2015.
