Recipes for the Road Celebrates 16th Anniversary Program Aims to Keep Roads Safe This Holiday Season

Book of unique, non-alcoholic drink recipes from local restaurants to help curb drinking and driving during the holidays.

Jacksonville, FL, November 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Jiffy Lube, the Florida Dept. of Transportation, and TraumaOne at Shands Jacksonville are proud to announce the 16th anniversary of Recipes for the Road. These books contain unique, non-alcoholic drink recipes that have been assembled from local restaurants and will be available for Free at all Jacksonville and Gainesville Jiffy Lubes and participating restaurants from November 18 through January 1, 2014.

Traditionally the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays are the most dangerous on Florida’s roadways, with alcohol-related traffic fatalities increasing 18% during this time. That alarming statistic has made Jiffy Lube and the Community Traffic Safety Program, including the Florida Highway Patrol and local law enforcement, unite again to make a positive change in the community by printing and distributing 30,000 Recipes for the Road books. The recipes in these books are perfect for designated drivers at holiday get-togethers, or for you to just enjoy at home with a friend or loved one.

Over the last 16 years of producing Recipes for the Road, circulation has increased and positive changes have been made to the book; but the message has remained the same: to keep people safe during the holidays.
