Brain Zoo’s Award Winning Animated Short Film, Pepe & Lucas is Now Available as an Enhanced iBook, Offering an Engaging Way to Watch Video and Read Along with Children
LA-based Brain Zoo Studios has turned its acclaimed 3D animation short film Pepe & Lucas into an enhanced iBook for iPad to help give parents and children a deeper experience with the property. Created by Brain Zoo founder Mo Davoudian, Pepe & Lucas is a comedic and romantic tale of a hard luck clown named Pepe and Lucas the mime who battle it out in zany street performances. However, Pepe falls in love with Lucas and they learn that they accomplish more together than each on their own.
Los Angeles, CA, November 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Pepe & Lucas is a new enhanced children’s book playfully animated, colorfully presented and just released on the Apple iBookstore for iPad.
The idea for the book came from seeing the reaction of children who were present with their parents during an awards screening. The dynamic style, bold character expressions and zany magic tricks captured their attention. With the holidays approaching the creator of the film, Mo Davoudian, founder of Brain Zoo Studios, wanted to create an active way for parents to share the ultimately uplifting film with their children.
The story begins in Starlight City where a down and out clown Pepe engages with Lucas the mime, in a street performance that pushes their super powers to the limit. The two entertainers mischievously try to outdo each other, but the one thing they don’t plan on is the power of love. When it is revealed that Lucas is actually a girl with pretty red hair, Pepe falls in love. They triumph by combining their talents to create a new crowd-pleasing show and learn that they can get more by working together rather than by fighting.
The full movie is broken down into chapters that one can play from the related page of still shots and fun rhyming text. Watching the video in such a way keeps young children coming back to the book. Parents can either read along with their child as he or she interacts with the book, or just watch him/her enjoy the story over and over again.
Beautiful visuals and warm color tones enhance the message of friendship, sharing and collaboration. The style is modeled after Charlie Chaplin movies and the silent era and thus the emphasis is placed on physicality and facial expression that children naturally relate to. The characters’ slap-stick movements and sound effects are engaging elements. There is also a little bonus for parents: the look of the film transports the reader to a European street, opening up the imagination to travels.
Pepe & Lucas is available on the iBookstore through iTunes for $1.99. The book exists for the iPad in English, French and soon Spanish and German: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/pepe-lucas/id750000063?ls=1&mt=11
