Critical Manufacturing Achieves CMMI L3
Critical Manufacturing today announced that it has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). The appraisal was performed by the US firm, KAMO Consultancy, LLC.
Maia, Porto, Portugal, November 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for Maturity Level 3, is established and improved over time.
“The achievement of the CMMI L3, especially with no weaknesses, sets an important milestone in our company’s history,” says Teresa Carreiro, Operations Manager at Critical Manufacturing. “We want our customers to know that, both in our internal product development and in our services projects, the quality of our solutions and the agility of our responses are anchored in solid, yet continuously improving, processes,” she adds.
The appraisal was led by Jeanie Kitson. Ms. Kitson has twenty-five years of experience in systems/software engineering and process improvement. She has been a Visiting Scientist at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and a member of the United States Technical Advisory Group to ISO/JTC1 SC7 WG10.
CMMI is the result of more than 25 years of ongoing work at Carnegie Mellon University by members of industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute. Powered by Carnegie Mellon, the CMMI Institute is working to build upon CMMI’s success, advance the state of the practice, accelerate the development and adoption of best practices, and provide solutions to the emerging needs of businesses around the world.
