Arabian Centres Company Sweeps Recon 2013 Awards
Arabian centers Company, a leading retail real estate owner and developer and the largest in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, had a most rewarding year 2013 crowned at the Recon 2013 event on November 25, sweeping as many as 4 prestigious awards. Recon is the largest convention for the shopping center industry jointly organized by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, December 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- ICSC's global awards recognize excellence within the region's shopping center industry. Awards are given for outstanding achievement in retail, marketing and design/development of retail properties and retail store design. Gold Award winners will be automatically entered into an international competition for the Viva Best-of-the-Best Awards. ICSC announced the winners of the 2013 Recon during an awards ceremony at the Westin hotel, Dubai. Finalists were selected from different entries and judged based on several criteria of performance, innovation, marketing, etc.
Arabian Centres aced the competition with 2 Gold awards and 1 Silver. The greatest accolade of the night was the Community Support Award for Arabian Centres "Breast Cancer Fighting" campaign, carried out in partnership with Zahra Organization for the breast cancer fighting in the kingdom.
Beside the Support Award, the first Gold Award was given to the "Dollani" project in the Cause Related Marketing Category. Out by its responsibility towards the society, Arabian Centres has launched its Nation-wide CSR program “Dollani Ala El Souq", a program aimed to decrease unemployment rate and help young entrepreneurs getting their ideas to the market. The first phase of the program was completed last year with great results.
The second Gold Award was for Billy Beez in the New Retail Concepts Category. Billy Beez is an indoor, soft-play entertainment center for children, themed around a family of very active and friendly honey bees that live in the rainforest. A simple but unique new concept, 100% Saudi, developed by Arabian Centres Company with a desire to have places that are directed toward health, well being and physical activity and that are not all about electronic games . Within 2 years, this fast growing concept opened 9 branches in 3 different continents. Moreover, the center won the 2012 Saudi Tourism Award as "Best Entertainment Center for Kids" and a Guinness World Record for Billy Beez mall of Dhahran as "Largest Indoor Playground" in the world.
The third Silver Award was for Salaam Mall Jeddah for the Renovation of an Existing Project.
Arabian Centres undertook Salaam Mall Jeddah and led it to pursue a major interior and exterior refurbishment. Salaam Mall now features upscale design elements, an improved tenant mix, upgraded amenities and major infrastructure enhancements for the entertainment area providing an 80% completed lease to the mall and delighted shoppers.
Upon receiving the awards, Mr. Fahad Otaibi, PR Manager at Arabian Centres commented how honored they are to be there and proud of these achievements that recognize Arabian Centres' best practices and put its name, once again, at the forefront as a leader within the industry.
