Kim Rody Wants to Raise $30,000 to Fund High Quality Tropical Themed Dinnerware
Known as the "fishartista," Kim Rody paints all things tropical including fish, turtles and palm trees. Now she wants to turn her ocean paintings into functional dinnerware pieces such as mugs, tri dishes and platters. Kim Rody is using Kickstarter to help fund her project and is aiming to raise $30,000 by January 9th, 2014.
Tampa, FL, December 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dishes with Fishes - from prototype to top quality dinnerware.
This dinnerware project began as a request from the manager of the Abaco Inn in the Bahamas, who asked Kim to create a large set of dinnerware with fish that could be auctioned off to raise money for the Hope Town Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department on that little island. Kim delivered 48 pieces of dinnerware to Tom in February 2013.
The funding from Kickstarter will help get Kim Rody the quality components (porcelain china) at the quantity needed to produce the dinnerware, and the money needed to upgrade to a silkscreen process which involves four color processing.
Bekki Rich, owner of The Wayward Garden in Stone in New Jersey says, "It's sometimes hard to find new and interesting products for my little eclectic store... I am long time fan of Kim, to me this was the next natural step for her."
Prizes for funding through Kickstarter range from tropical landscape note cards to custom paintings to a trip to the Abacos.
