PREMIER Biosoft Files Patent Application for Metabolite Identification Method
PREMIER Biosoft files a patent application at the USPTO on December 6, 2013 for “Identification of Metabolites From Tandem Mass Spectrometry Data Using Databases of Precursor and Product Ion Data.”
Palo Alto, CA, December 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- PREMIER Biosoft, a leading bioinformatics company specializing in developing analytical software products for mass spectrometry, is pleased to announce the filing of a patent application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on December 6, 2013 for “Identification of Metabolites From Tandem Mass Spectrometry Data Using Databases of Precursor and Product Ion Data”.
PREMIER Biosoft's software for metabolite analysis, SimMet, uses this identification technique to scan and analyze high throughput mass spectrometric metabolite data and believes that it would result in a more accurate assignment.
“We are pleased that our development efforts have culminated in the filing of this patent application as PREMIER Biosoft continues to develop novel intellectual property,” said Arun Apte, CEO, PREMIER Biosoft. “We look forward to rapid commercialization of our solution to provide efficient and accurate analysis to a global community of metabolomics researchers.”
The SimMet beta, which includes this technology, will be on offer later this month. The product is designed to provide a comprehensive solution for mass spectrometry metabolite data analysis encompassing protocols of LC- MS data analysis, structural identification using product ions, differential analysis and quantitative analysis. Researchers are invited to evaluate the program and share their feedback.
