Quirón Marbella Unveils New Plastic Surgery Department
Quirón opened its first hospital in Marbella in October 2012 and has now announced the introduction of a plastic surgery department. The plastic surgery unit will consist of newly equipped facilities and is an important part of the hospital’s future expansion plans.
Marbella, Spain, December 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Grupo Hospitalario Quirón is Spain’s leading private healthcare provider with 25 maximum care level hospitals throughout the country. For decades, the Quirón group has traditionally been the hospital of choice for the Spanish elite welcoming numerous celebrities from sport stars to members of the Spanish royal family.
The nationwide fusion with USP hospitals in 2012, formerly Quirón’s main competitor in this sector, has converted the Quirón group into an unparalleled provider of private healthcare in Spain.
Quirón opened its first hospital in Marbella in October 2012 and has now announced the introduction of a plastic surgery department. The plastic surgery unit will consist of newly equipped facilities and is an important part of the hospital’s future expansion plans.
Cutting edge technology paired with extensive surgical experience is the mainstay of Quirón’s mission. The new department will be headed by Dr. Alexander Aslani, who has led the plastic surgery unit of Quirón Malaga since 2009 with remarkable success. Just four years after its launch, the plastic surgery department at Quirón Malaga is currently handling more than 1.500 operations a year.
Dr. Aslani, who has always been based in Marbella at the Cirumed Clinic, is greatly excited about this new project. He stated that “It will not be easy to run two departments at the same time, but for me and my team this is an exciting challenge.” Boasting twenty years of surgical experience and over 12.000 operations, Dr. Aslani and his team offer the entire range of contemporary plastic surgery procedures, including reconstructive microsurgery. He and his team have particular clinical interest in large volume fat grafting procedures, especially fat transfer augmentation of breasts and buttocks.
Having performed hundreds of these procedures in recent years, he welcomes patients travelling from all parts of Europe to undergo surgery with him in Spain.
Dr. Aslani is one of very few surgeons in Europe to have extensive experience in large volume augmentation of the buttocks, the so called “Brazilian butt lift”.
“The Brazilian butt lift has become one of the most sought after procedures by our patients. It is a ideal for both patient and surgeon since no other procedure enables the surgeon to achieve such a nice reshaping using only the patient’s own tissue,” Dr. Aslani comments.
The key to Dr. Aslani’s fat transfer procedure lies in his extensive experience with Water-Jetstream assisted liposuction. “The Water Jetstream technique is somewhat ideal for large volume fat grafting,” says Dr. Aslani.
In Water-Jetstream liposuction, fat is gently washed out of its surrounding tissue bed with a pulsating Water Jetstream. It keeps the larger number of extracted fat cells alive and therefore greatly improves the success rate of transplantation.
"Throughout my career, I have tried virtually everything to improve the outcome of my fat transplantation procedures. But so far, the Water Jet technology has been the single most important contribution to successful fat grafting. It has made the result much more predictive and our auditorials show us that the success rate in fat transfer is nearly 40 % higher than conventional approaches,"
reports Dr. Aslani.
In their strive to perfect further their results, Dr. Aslani and his team have equipped both hospital departments, Quirón Marbella as well as Quirón Malaga, with the so called ‘BodyJet EVO system’, which is the second generation product in Water Jetstream technology. Developing the original BodyJet technology further, the BodyJet EVO system consists of a digitalized low pressure programme for standardized harvest of fat grafts. “The modifications in the BodyJet EVO technology make large volume fat grafts even more ideal,” Dr. Aslani states. "The gentle nature of water jet fat harvesting enables us to do even larger volume fat grafting such as the Brazilian butt lifts under local anesthetic only."
Apart from aesthetic motives, Dr. Aslani envisions a broader range of needs for reconstructive Water Jetstream fat grafting. “We treat a high number of breast cancer patients seeking reconstruction, especially following partial removal of their breasts. We have extensive experience in micro-fat grafting for such cases. The procedure enables patients to achieve reconstruction results using their own tissue and without resorting to implants; an operation that usually requires a vast amount of time. This is an extremely promising step forward for fat transfer solutions in the future."
