Book Distributor's Binding Facility Moves to St. Louis
Company closes Steelville bindery, adds 30 jobs at new location.
St. Louis, MO, December 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Hilliker Corporation, a St. Louis owned and managed commercial real estate company, assisted a nearly 40-year-old local book wholesaler start a new chapter for its bookbinding division.
GL group, Inc. recently closed its Jaffe Book Solution’s bindery in Steelville, Mo. and moved it to 3401 Chouteau in St. Louis’ midtown area. The company, which hired 30 people to handle its bookbinding services, signed a two year lease for the 38,000-square-foot building. The new facility is only a few miles from GL group’s corporate headquarters at 5111 Southwest Ave. and its 67,000-square-foot Booksource division located at 1230 Macklind Ave. GL group has 164 employees and revenue of $64.6 million in 2012.
The 60-year-old Chouteau facility was previously the home of Wilkes Printing, which closed two months ago after nearly 30 years in business. Hilliker Corporation, which was able to immediately re-lease the premises, represented both the tenant and the landlord, making this the sixth transaction between Hilliker Corporation and GL group.
