Doylestown, PA, December 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Public Relations Society of America’s Philadelphia Chapter has awarded Gina F. Rubel, President and CEO of Furia Rubel Communications, with the Maxine Elkin Award for Distinguished Service. The award honors the late Maxine Elkin, a public relations professional who served as a great asset to the Philadelphia PRSA chapter and to her community.
“I’m humbled to receive an award remembering such a passionate and respected public relations professional. Professionals like Maxine, and previous award recipients Anne Klein and Ellen Toplin, have set the bar very high, and I am honored to continue their legacies of integrity and leadership,” said Rubel.
The Maxine Elkin Award recognizes leaders who exemplify integrity and professionalism and share a commitment to advancing the profession of public relations. State Rep. Marguerite Quinn nominated Rubel for the award, which was presented at the PRSA Pepperpot Awards ceremony on Dec. 3, 2013 at Vie in Philadelphia.
“It was my pleasure to nominate Gina for the Maxine Elkin Award,” said Quinn. “Using the megaphone of public relations wisely and well, for the betterment of all, takes skill and integrity, and Gina combines both those traits expertly.”
