Novinium Improves the Performance and Safety of Its Injection Fluids
Auburn, WA, December 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Novinium, the world’s most advanced cable-rejuvenation solution provider, announces today the reformulation of its Perficio™ injection fluid and patented, state-of-the art Ultrinium™ injection fluid to improve performance and worker safety. These fluids are part of the Novinium® cable-life extension solution for rejuvenating underground, medium-voltage cable. Novinium’s state-of-the-art solution restores underground cable to better-than-new condition and extends cable life up to 40 years.
Although Novinium has never had a fire, the company reformulated its Perficio and Ultrinium fluids to improve safety for workers and the public at large by increasing the flash point—the lowest temperature at which liquids vaporize to form an ignitable mixture in air. Although the flash point for Novinium’s injection fluids has always been the highest in the category, the flash points for the improved fluids are higher than temperatures typical of the environment. This further reduces the risk that Novinium customers will experience a flash-point fire.
Additional fluid performance improvements include making the fluids more tolerant of colder injection environments and dehydrating the insulation more quickly. These improvements increase worker safety and shorten the time required to achieve maximum cable rejuvenation protection.
