Jewish Family & Children’s Service Updates Agency Name to Reflect Broader Region Served
Sarasota, FL, December 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc. (JFCS), the premier local safety net social service organization, has changed its name to Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc. to recognize the non-profit agency’s broader service region. Formerly addressed as JFCS of Sarasota-Manatee, the new name reflects the organization’s growth and the multiple counties now served including Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota.
Founded in 1985, JFCS of the Suncoast has been providing a wide array services to children, adults, families, seniors, caregivers, and veterans. Provided to anyone in need regardless of his or her faith and on a non-denominational basis, services offer individuals and families:
· Individual and Group Counseling
· Education and Mentoring
· Employment, Financial, and Housing Assistance
· Intervention and Prevention Resources
· Support Groups
· Volunteer Opportunities
Many of JFCS’ programs aim to end and prevent homelessness; offer food and financial assistance; provide a safe alternative to out-of-school suspension; build stronger families through family life education, host employment and social opportunities; outreach to seniors and caregivers; and deliver doula and holocaust survivor services to the Jewish community.
“We didn’t want the community to feel our services were limited to Sarasota or Manatee counties,” stated Rose Chapman, LCSW, president and CEO of Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc. “We evaluated our multiple locations and how we expect to grow and ‘of the Suncoast’ fits our vision.”
Guided by the Jewish tradition of helping all people, JFCS helps those facing life challenges to overcome and face them head-on through self-sustainability. Collaborating with local and national organizations and government agencies, such as United Way, The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs; JFCS is able to provide complete and comprehensive patient-centered care to individuals and families in need.
