The Black Book of Outsourcing survey, conducted by Brown-Wilson Group, a Clearwater, Fla., based consultancy, aims to identify the 50 best-managed global outsourcing vendors. It also provides a look at industry trends and client-vendor relationships to assist companies that are shopping for an outsourcing supplier and also to help suppliers identify weaknesses and areas for growth. Brown-Wilson Group, which conducted the survey from January through April, ranked outsourcing vendors according to responses by executives and others involved in outsourcing decision-making about their experience and satisfaction with their current suppliers.
Methodology
The survey for Brown-Wilson Group's "50 Best-Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors" was distributed electronically to customers, employees, buyers, contractors and users world-wide in early 2007. In January, surveys were sent to the nearly 17,000 outsourcing decision makers who participated and were verified in the 2006 survey process. In March 2007, over 102,000 additional invitations were sent to individuals in corporations, businesses, organizations and government agencies who use, offer and are employed in outsourcing services.
The survey link was also available on several Websites. Survey participation was voluntary and anonymous. Survey entry codes were available only one time. The survey closed on April 30, 2007. The 26 criteria & indicators of vendor satisfaction are posed with a scoring basis of 0 to 10 (0= deal breaking dissatisfaction and 10= overwhelming exceeded expectations) per criteria.

Database of survey responses shows 228 niche firms globally had the minimum of ten qualified client votes to compete for a Top Ten ranking, which makes Advertising research one of the most evaluated outsourcing service lines in the outsourcing client survey process.
