"The Foxy Merkins" Are Hooking Their Way to the 2014 Sundance Film Festival Via Kickstarter Launch

New York, NY, January 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Wisconsin LLC announced today the Kickstarter campaign launch for “The Foxy Merkins” film, directed by Madeleine Olnek. The Campaign is entitled “THE FOXY MERKINS ARE HOOKING THEIR WAY TO SUNDANCE 2014.” An official 2014 selection of the Sundance Film Festival, “The Foxy Merkins” is part of the NEXT category and will screen at the festival from January 20-24, 2014.

Films in the NEXT category are bold works distinguished by an innovative, forward-thinking approach to storytelling populate this program. This is Olnek’s second feature film in the Sundance Film Festival. Her first film, “Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same” premiered in the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. This August 2013, “The Foxy Merkins” had its world premiere at NEXT WEEKEND, Sundances’ first ever festival in L.A. It was subsequently nominated for a 2014 Independent Spirit Award.

A female prostitute buddy comedy, “The Foxy Merkins” pays homage to and riffs off of iconic male hustler films. Olnek and her team are raising final finishing funds in the amount of $12,200 through Kickstarter to cover making the film-distribution ready (legal fees, rights and clearances insurance coverage, materials, etc.) so that it can play at a festivals and cinemas nationally and internationally.
