Springfield, MO, January 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Mark Miller, former veteran Springfield TV news anchor, has been named the new College Director of Communications for Ozarks Technical Community College.
Miller replaces Joel Doepker, who became vice president for external relations at East Central Community College in Union, Mo., late last year.
“In today’s knowledge-based economy, everyone can benefit from the breadth of classes that OTC has to offer,” Miller said. “I have witnessed OTC’s growth for years and I jumped at the chance to work for this first-rate organization.”
Before coming to OTC, Miller was spokesperson and issues manager at the University of Colorado Boulder. He was also associate director of marketing and communications at Drury University.
Miller spent seven years in the Springfield TV market serving as sports anchor, news anchor and account executive for stations KSFX/KOLR. Prior to that, he worked in sports broadcasting in Kentucky and Nebraska.
“We welcome Mark to the OTC family where his many talents will be put to use to lead the College in communicating our story to supporters, business leaders and the public in a variety of ways,” said OTC Chancellor Dr. Hal L. Higdon.
“Mark will be a tremendous voice for the College. His vast experience in broadcasting will be an added plus in getting the College’s message out to everyone,” said Cliff Davis, vice chancellor for Advancement | Student Affairs | Workforce Development.
Miller will be formally approved at Monday morning’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The Ozarks Technical Community College system offers associate degrees and certificates in a variety of technical, allied health, and two-year transfer degree programs, as well as workforce development opportunities and community enrichment courses. Classes are available at six locations throughout southwest Missouri, including the option to earn a complete associate degree online.
